By Air
The nearest airport from Rishikesh is the Jolly Grant Airport, situated
in the capital city of Dehradun. It is hardly 35 km from the holy town
and is perfect for reaching Rishikesh by air. You can take Simplifly
Deccan (earlier Air Deccan) flight, which operates on Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Saturdays, from New Delhi to Dehradun. From there, you can
take a bus or taxi to Rishikesh.
By Rail
Rishikesh does not have railway station of its own. The nearest railway
station from the town is that of Haridwar, which lies approximately 24
km away. Thus, you can come till Haridwar by train and from there, take
a bus or cab for Rishikesh. Apart from the trains between Haridwar and
Delhi, all the trains going to Dehradun also make a stoppage there.
By Road
The best, and the most convenient, method of reaching Rishikesh is by
road. You will easily get buses and taxis for reaching the town from the
nearby cities like Delhi, Dehradun, Haridwar, etc. From Haridwar,
regular bus services as well as taxis are easily available, connecting
it with the towns like Agra, Chandigarh, Manali, Shimla, etc.
