By Air
There is an airport at Shimla, though it is still not serviced by all
the airlines. It is situated at a distance of around 23 km from
Jubbarhatti. The airport is serviced by airlines like Jagson and Deccan
Airways. Apart from that, the nearest airport is situated at
Chandigarh.
From there, you can get flights with Simplifly Deccan, Indian Airlines,
etc for Delhi.
By Rail
The nearest railhead is situated at Kalka, where you can easily reach
by taking a train from Delhi. From there, you can take the toy train to
reach Summer Hill. The 96 km journey covered by the toy train will take
around 5 hours to get completed. However, the journey will present such
wonderful vistas of the countryside before you eyes that you will hardly
notice the time.
By Road
Shimla is well connected with an extensive road network. There is an
all-weather road leading to the hill resort, from Chandigarh, Mandi and
Delhi. You can easily get State Transport as well as private buses for
reaching Shimla from New Delhi. Infact, the high-end Volvo buses also
cater to tourists going to Shimla. You will also get taxis for covering
the distance between the two destinations.
